Time Nick Message 12:14 mmuller Hi all. I was recently compiling luanti using an older gcc version (7.5.0) and ran into a compiler error -- some of the SColor comparison operators needed to be explicitly marked "constexpr". 12:15 mmuller Do you care? I can submit a pull request, if so. OTOH it's perfectly reasonable not to care about such an old version. 12:19 sy Is there a generally chosen inventory enhancement mod? I custom rolled something a decade ago that groups the creative inventory by mod and allows server owners to have mixed creative and survival users, I'm wondering if i3 or unified inventory is generally preferred and if there is a x-y problem (I group by mod to be able to find things faster -- is there an easier way to do that) 12:21 MTDiscord I usually see unified inventory used 12:30 mazes_84 mmuller: I can't answer because idk nothing about dev team. But I was wondering why you use a rather old version of gcc. 12:31 mmuller mazes_84: it's on a system that is inconvenient to update, is all. 12:35 bgstack15 sy: I think there's several very popular ones. If you're going for maximum market share of your mod, I would look for the top 2-4 inventory mods and make your thing compatible with that. I think there's a Mineclonia mod that does something similar to what you're doing: https://content.luanti.org/packages/Philaire/custom_creative_tabs/ 12:35 bgstack15 You should compare notes with that guy and maybe find some ideas. 12:36 sy bgstack15: thanks! that looks pretty good, I'm not particularly a fan of the MC inv but something closer to NEI 12:38 bgstack15 Sorry, I'm not well-versed in the inventory mods. I think for my non-mineclonia servers I used i3 but I hadn't searched hard to get to it. Tell me more about NEI 12:39 bgstack15 I remember finding it ironic I use something called i3 but not the X11 tiling window manager called i3. 12:42 Ingar even worse, you could have been the proud owner of an intel i3 processor 12:43 sy bgstack15: NEI is Not Enough Items, a fork (or at least inspiration for the name) from the Minecraft mod Too Many Items, I found it much more organised and easier to find things in but concede it is a matter of taste 12:43 sy Ingar: or the proud user of the i3 tiling window manager 12:43 sy unfortunately sway is the cool kid on the block now 12:45 Ingar I've been on KDE plasma for ages, too lazy to switch to anything else 12:45 bgstack15 Do you have a link to this NEI? I haven't been able to find it by name in ContentDB. 12:46 sy sorry, not only is it a fork of the minecraft TMI inventory mod, it is also still a minecraft mod 13:43 sfan5 mmuller: sure, feel free to. we don't test on gcc 7.5, but luant is supposed to work on this version 13:43 sfan5 luanti* 13:44 mmuller sfan5: ok, will do. 15:14 mmuller sfan5: https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/pull/17319 (tests are currently running) 16:46 Sheriff_U3 something that I've been thinking about is that it would be nice to have a badge for forum topics like we do for ContentDB packages. 18:50 MinetestBot 02[git] 04mindhog -> 03luanti-org/luanti: Add "constexpr" keyword to SColor comparison ops 13ab291fb https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/commit/ab291fbcbcf0e9295d86bedb129e4e123db23b5d (152026-07-03T18:48:55Z) 18:50 MinetestBot 02[git] 04CrazyladMT -> 03luanti-org/luanti: Disable delay hack for non-hypertip hypertext (#17317) 13193f55f https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/commit/193f55fee1479580853ba44533604ee97c4251bb (152026-07-03T18:49:05Z) 18:50 MinetestBot 02[git] 04sfan5 -> 03luanti-org/luanti: Update MinGW libraries and toolchain 1317c229b https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/commit/17c229bfad5627ce5cdd14f9af40066bc19cca5a (152026-07-03T18:49:17Z) 18:50 MinetestBot 02[git] 04OgelGames -> 03luanti-org/luanti: Fix text color and font not applying to field labels (#17311) 1373e48bc https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/commit/73e48bc348014e6673f22e6a4f34a383d95d9835 (152026-07-03T18:49:29Z) 19:31 [MatrxMT] looking through https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues?q=state%3Aclosed or any other list of closed issues/prs on any open source project has to be a leisure activity
