<wsor4035> there is some document somewhere which determines how stuff gets updated. someone else can link it, but the summary is see what still supported debian versions have as the lowest gcc |

there's simply no reason to drop supportfor old gcc if it still works |

the problem is that testing it in CI is additional work if the distro goes out of support |
