vibe coding scripts you'd be too lazy to do otherwise is pretty much the theme of this year. it makes no sense not to do it |

i have way more energy for coming up with ideas and architecting code, than for actually writing the raw lines of code to actually flesh out a project, and LLMs fill that need very well. i can just give one an empty function and a description of what's supposed to happen and bam, it's implemented |

one way to use them is also to do just that, but then not actually copy paste anything, but just using the output as super handy reference material for writing the implementation yourself. the result is likely to contain all the api methods and algorithms you need |
06:58 |
celeron55 |
and it's also a very fast way of figuring out whether your idea or architecture made any sense to begin with. if the LLM is having a hard time while you thought it was an easy problem, it's likely you'd be pulling your hair also. and you save yourself from getting invested in it |

(this is probably bad news for the kind of person who likes to get invested in small details) |

<Zughy> I wonder how free licenses apply though, since it's a question also rubenwardy posed in his latest PR |

It seems quite good for random scripts but I wouldn't trust it for project code. Had to fix a few things with that script where it made up gh commands |
09:13 |
rubenwardy |
I don't think that script is creative enough to be copyrightable and AI isn't subject to that |

Also, would be funny if when software is AI coded, copyright doesn't apply. Woo free software! |
