16:16 MTDiscord <.zenonseth> not quite core but builtin/ stuff - i was thinking of a slightly improved gui for /help, to allow searching too. I can make it a mod that overwrites /help ofc, but wondering if i made a PR to change default whether that's something considering, is builtin/ meant to stay as-is as much as possible ?
16:17 Krock feel free to improve it. that is - as long the code doesn't turn out to be 1000 lines, which I would assume is too much for such feature.
16:18 MTDiscord <.zenonseth> OK, sure - i have a skeleton in a mod i started writing with formspec first, its less than 100 lines so far, and if i dont have to replicate (which i was going to do) the existing help features, it wont be much bigger than 100ish changed lines prob.
16:21 Krock the only downside I can see that if you replace every line, I'd be a little sad.
16:25 MTDiscord <.zenonseth> hmm interesting, have never made PRs under such constraints before
16:26 MTDiscord <.zenonseth> we'll see how it goes
17:08 sfan5 if CI passes I will push this commit to master https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/pull/17442/changes/2d9a6f161f604f13d2e1dde25ee420308943f1c0
18:00 sfan5 ...and now the CI doesn't run on master, funny

19:54 MTDiscord <.zenonseth> re: help formspec: 1 file changed, 206 insertions(+), 79 deletions(-) hmmm a bit longer than 100 lines
19:55 MTDiscord <.zenonseth> and i need to go test it on mobile too, but that should just be some size adjustments not more code
20:52 Sheriff_U3 Too bad it likely will not get in for 5.17 :(
20:57 MTDiscord <.zenonseth> what the help formspec?
20:57 Sheriff_U3 hey
20:57 Sheriff_U3 *yeah
21:00 MTDiscord <.zenonseth> eh its not such a big deal, here it is on mobile, this is what i was thinking
21:00 MTDiscord <.zenonseth> https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/747163566800633906/1538291439039942666/image.png?ex=6a82250b&is=6a80d38b&hm=794b398f51cf4b3f217e765a0bea701ac7efeba84d58bca1d0aa768a9e0c2076&
21:01 Sheriff_U3 Looks good to me
21:02 MTDiscord <.zenonseth> the search searches both mod names and command names, that's the main reason it went to 200 lines, had to filter + receive fields which it previously didn't have since it was just 1 list

22:59 sfan5 cool now msvc ci is failing because https://gitlab.freedesktop.org is having intermittent downtime (probably too high load?)
22:59 sfan5 can we please replace vcpkg with something that's not a tower built on sand
23:00 sfan5 or remove it

23:14 sfan5 conan (https://conan.io/) has everything we have except they didn't get the memo on luajit and are still shipping ancient shit
23:14 sfan5 https://github.com/conan-io/conan-center-index/issues/20394 and nobody cares either
23:16 MTDiscord <wsor4035> solution: move to rust ....or any other langauge that has sane package management figured out for the language (only half joking)
23:17 MTDiscord <wsor4035> what about meson?
23:18 sfan5 the problem description is: "we want to build Luanti on Windows with MSVC for CI reasons, but without chasing down all library dependencies ourselves"
23:19 sfan5 I don't think meson can help?
23:19 MTDiscord <wsor4035> meson wrapdb. no idea if its any good or what it has
23:20 MTDiscord <wsor4035> https://mesonbuild.com/Wrapdb-projects.html
23:20 sfan5 the big question is will it integrate with cmake and/or the environment so we can find installed libraries?
23:22 sfan5 because as far as I know meson only integrated with ... meson as a build system
23:22 sfan5 integrates*
23:23 MTDiscord <wsor4035> probably not
23:23 MTDiscord <wsor4035> idk, i refer to my early comment about a language that has this figured out and isnt stuck in the past
23:25 MTDiscord <wsor4035> xrepo might be an option if your stuck with cmake? https://github.com/xmake-io/xrepo-cmake
23:26 MTDiscord <wsor4035> and allows pulling from conan i guess
