I'm trying to get subheaders for the mod settings menu, but the way the docs say to do that is not working. |
| 16:29 |
Sheriff_U3 |
settingtypes.txt for it: https://paste.opendev.org/show/832648/ |
| 17:04 |
bgstack15 |
Mod "leads" shows me headings. Check that one out. |

I have never noticed the headings in settings before! It's a nice touch. I don't think I've ever had enough settings to group them by headings. |
| 17:36 |
sfan5 |
Sheriff_U3: i think you might need at least one *, so that [*Balls] is a first-level heading |
| 17:37 |
sfan5 |
(just a guess) |

sfan5: Tried that, doesn't work. I gave all the headers at least 1 * and they didn't show up. |
| 18:19 |
Sheriff_U3 |
bgstack15: I'll take a look at their settingtypes.txt then |
| 18:21 |
Sheriff_U3 |
The leads mod does have headers, but not sub headers, which is what I'm going for. |
| 18:22 |
Sheriff_U3 |
Maybe sub headers are only available to the engine? I'll just work around it for now. |

Hi, simple question, looking for any tool to migrate a world from one game/mod to another |
| 19:18 |
sfan5 |
that will be tricky in general |
| 19:19 |
sfan5 |
but possible if someone has written a tool specificially for that use case |
| 19:21 |
InFerNo_ |
you for that specific mod? |
| 19:21 |
InFerNo_ |
or simply a general tool? |
| 19:22 |
sfan5 |
for the specific pair of mod you want to migrate from and to |
| 19:29 |
InFerNo_ |
any tools you know of I could appropriate? |
| 19:31 |
sfan5 |
no, you'll have to search |

>>>PSA<<< Luanti 5.15.2 has just been released and fixes critical vulnerabilities, get it here: https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/releases/tag/5.15.2 |
| 21:46 |
* user333_ |
goes to build an aarch64 appimage of it |
| 21:49 |
MTDiscord |
<rollerozxa> ah crap I gotta update my server aren't I |
| 21:50 |
user333_ |
same, although mine isn't public |
| 21:50 |
sfan5 |
hm I guess we should clarify that none of them allow the client to exploit the server in any way |
| 21:52 |
user333_ |
means a little more pain for me because i run a slightly modded 5.15.1 on my server |
| 21:52 |
sfan5 |
(nor the other way around actually) |
| 21:58 |
Sheriff_U3 |
Does the security risk include v5.15.0 or just v5.15.1? |
| 21:58 |
sfan5 |
everything older than 5.15.2 |
| 21:59 |
Sheriff_U3 |
Ok good to know |
| 21:59 |
user333_ |
so would it be possible for a modified client to crash a server and vice versa? |
| 22:00 |
MTDiscord |
<rollerozxa> yea I guess it's a DoS vulnerability |
| 22:00 |
sfan5 |
probably but that's not actually the most important fix in the release |
| 22:01 |
sfan5 |
I won't say more because it's already obvious enough |
| 22:01 |
sfan5 |
just go update |
| 22:01 |
user333_ |
looks like my 5.15.2 appimage works, time to upload it |
| 22:02 |
user333_ |
actually i should test it on my RPi3 first |
| 22:03 |

user333_: If you could share a link for it I would appreciate it. (I've got a bunch of Luanti AppImages (one for each minor version) for me to test version compatibility.) |
| 22:04 |
user333_ |
for aarch64? |
| 22:04 |
Sheriff_U3 |
amd64 |
| 22:04 |
user333_ |
probably wouldn't be too useful for you in that case |
| 22:05 |
MTDiscord |
<rollerozxa> I'm getting a 5.15.2 for my appimages out right now |
| 22:05 |
Sheriff_U3 |
oh your just doing aarch64? yeah that wouldn't work too well for me. |
| 22:08 |
user333_ |
looks like it runs |
| 22:10 |
MTDiscord |
<rollerozxa> there we go, got both my luantiserver and appimage builds updated |
| 22:11 |
user333_ |
done as well |

<rollerozxa> > Luanti 5.13.0 (Linux) |
| 22:11 |
MTDiscord |
<rollerozxa> been a while since I touched voxelmanip classic... |
| 22:11 |
ireallyhateirc |
would be good to get a short summary of the security fixes, I assume this is the major one? "Block writes to .git folders in sandbox (sfan5)" |
| 22:12 |
user333_ |
i'd update luanti on my laptop but i'm compiling linux 7.0 in the background, so not right now... |
| 22:12 |
MTDiscord |
<rollerozxa> I assume there will be vulnerability disclosures soon after most have updated... |
| 22:12 |
user333_ |
time to wait 6 hours for luanti on my RPi1 to compile |
| 22:13 |
Sheriff_U3 |
Now I have to shutdown my server and upgrade it from 5.14 |
| 22:16 |
MTDiscord |
<rollerozxa> ah that was uneventful, all up to date... |

done the little forum post for mine |
