10:20 meta Greetings, I am having trouble with Luanti blanking my screen. I was here on the 09-07-26 with the same problem and i got some help from here. We figured out that the textures went missing using "renderdoc". The next proposed step was a debug build. I had to focus on something else and just now got the debug-build to crash in the same manner as the normal build. I had opened my build in a terminal with "--trace" and captured the output. There
10:20 meta was nothing in that log as well as the "debug.txt" which looked like the error. I was now wondering if the debug build saves its data somewhere else?
10:21 sfan5 crash? wasn't it just a rendering bug?
10:25 meta I got it to take down my whole py with a "RelWithDeb" build, but debug just has the same bug as before.
10:26 meta *pc
10:26 meta now it is once again just a rendering bug

10:30 sfan5 are you sure there isn't something wrong with your hardware or OS?
10:30 meta could be, but everything else runs fine
10:31 sfan5 that includes other graphically intensive apps?
10:32 meta Last time it was mentioned that intel graphics had problems, but to answer your question I played silksong on this machine
10:32 sfan5 right
10:33 meta I dont run heavy games on it, but what i play runs.

10:35 meta also, luanti worked on here for a while. A new mesa driver might have broken it, but i think the i3 6100 is so legacy that it does not get new developments.
10:37 meta Do you know how to get to the debug builds extended logs if those exist?
10:53 GNUHacker joined #luanti
11:22 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> the debug build alone doesn't increase the logging level, command-line args do
11:22 sfan5 --trace is the most you can get from luanti itself
11:22 sfan5 if it's an actual "crash" --debugger will help
11:29 meta It does not crash anymore, so now i just lose all visuals. I am currently messing around with settings and than try if the textures go missing.
11:30 MinetestBot [git] tenplus1 -> luanti-org/minetest_game: Add craftguide pause on load (#3264) 8fedb6d https://github.com/luanti-org/minetest_game/commit/8fedb6d4d71de1dd2503a2e1afcc66f614e605f5 (2026-08-06T11:30:47Z)
11:34 meta I think i will call it blanking, when the game keeps running but I can no longer see it, to avoid the term crash in the future.
11:35 meta It is still blanking.
11:38 Ingar note that skylake's iGPU indeed is utter crap
11:39 Ingar (disclosure: I have one)
11:46 kimapr left #luanti
11:50 meta it runs most that i need. I would buy a graphics card but i have a small form factor pc with an oem power supply. pickings are slim. so here i sit on old igpu.
11:51 meta Here i sit and play minetest_game at 10 fps waiting for it to crash.
11:51 Ingar :(
11:52 meta *blank not crash
11:52 Ingar well, the end result is the same
11:52 Ingar it no work
11:52 meta I test on creative, but i once drowned because it happened while i was under water.
11:54 meta Sadly i do not even know how to provoke a blank. Last time it was like 10 min of gemeplay and now i am approaching 30

12:25 meta 1h of 10 fps is enough for me. I will come back later and try to get something out of renderdoc. Bye

16:58 MTDiscord <jordan4ibanez> Meta what is your os?
17:00 Krock they left. Though I can play Luanti just fine on Ubuntu 24.04 on Intel HD 4000.
17:01 Krock which is 3rd gen Intel. I would assume that 6th gen performs at least equally well
17:06 MTDiscord <jordan4ibanez> I was going to suggest to install hwinfo64 and make sure the igpu wasn't cooking
17:06 MTDiscord <jordan4ibanez> That thermal paste might be cement at this point
