Krock: The "too slow" thing can, rarely, actually happen _on powered rail_, when the performance problem is bad enough; typically this will only be when the number of times you have to traverse each section of track before moving on, climbs into double digits. |

Yeah, the Linux virtual memory manager is reasonably good. It can handle the occasional page swap without grinding to a halt for five minutes solid. |
