14:05 Krock Is there some way to open the F6 statistics pages on Android?
14:38 Pexin joined #luanti-dev
14:52 MTDiscord <nathan4220776> Yes. YOu can press F6.
15:00 user333_ i have a wireless keyboard, but i doubt the f-keys would be detected on android
15:00 Krock @nathan4220776 No shit Sherlock
15:01 user333_ Krock: or make a few engine changes to make it toggleable by a setting
15:02 Krock hmm. I might be able to simulate key presses through adb
15:02 user333_ or that
15:03 Krock 'input keyevent KEYCODE_F12' or something like that. Anyway, I used the same configuration on desktop, where that would behave the same.
15:04 Krock (ogles2, that is.)
15:05 [MatrxMT] <y5nw> ... or add a virtual button that toggles profiler info
15:05 Krock either I am stupid or there was no such button available. I could only find F5 (normal profiler)
15:06 [MatrxMT] <y5nw> user333_: Also if the hardware F1-F12 keys are not detected then it would be an SDL bug
15:09 [MatrxMT] <y5nw> Krock: Looks like the latter unfortunately
15:55 sfan5 merging #16574 in 10m
15:55 ShadowBot https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues/16574 -- Introduce array textures for node rendering by sfan5
15:55 sfan5 20m* actually
15:58 sfan5 and #16629 and #16630
15:58 ShadowBot https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues/16629 -- Use CMAKE_INSTALL_FULL_*DIR for installation directories by marcin-serwin
15:58 ShadowBot https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues/16630 -- defaultsettings.cpp: drop the USEKEY2 macro by y5nw
16:20 * cheapie opens up #16754, does this: https://xkcd.com/281/
16:20 ShadowBot cheapie: Error: That URL raised <HTTP Error 404: Not Found>
16:20 cheapie #16574*
16:20 ShadowBot https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues/16574 -- Introduce array textures for node rendering by sfan5
16:21 cheapie \o/
16:27 MTDiscord <wsor4035> once https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/pull/16638 gets merged or some variation of it, should be good to test array textures (ignoring other opengl3 driver issues)
16:28 rubenwardy oh awesome, array textures PR merged!
16:28 [MatrxMT] <birdlover32767> yay
16:44 MTDiscord <luatic> rendering goes brrr
16:49 cheapie laptop fan goes brrr too, it seems :P
17:05 sfan5 #16639 testing welcome on Android
17:05 ShadowBot https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues/16639 -- Port most shaders to GLSL ES 3.0 by sfan5
17:13 cheapie Is ogles2 the driver in question here?
17:13 sfan5 yes
17:14 cheapie I tried it on a Linux box (I don't have any suitable Android devices unless I start sideloading stuff onto that rooted picture frame again) and got "2025-11-01 12:12:19: ERROR[Main]: Irrlicht: GLSL shader failed to compile 2025-11-01 12:12:19: ERROR[Main]: Irrlicht: 0:106(22): error: could not implicitly convert operands to relational operator", I don't know if that's expected when running it on there or not
17:15 sfan5 that's not supposed to happen
17:15 cheapie Want me to pastebin the whole relevant output?
17:16 sfan5 sure
17:16 cheapie https://gist.github.com/cheapie/660256be5cd967fe390c83d6baa05592
17:18 cheapie The same build works fine with the opengl3 driver
17:26 sfan5 i guess I need to test ssaa
17:32 sfan5 question is, did this work before? 🤔
17:35 sfan5 fixed either way
17:43 cheapie works now
17:44 cheapie It does do some weird Z-fighting looking stuff on the side of dirt with grass sometimes, not sure if that's new though: https://cheapiesystems.com/media/images/screenshot_20251101_124153.png
17:46 sfan5 that's not new but shouldn't happen
17:47 cheapie I did check on the SSAA thing though, that apparently didn't work before
17:48 cheapie The flickering seems to go away in the PR version with SSAA off
17:50 cheapie Getting a lot of "ERROR[Main]: Irrlicht: Could not draw triangles, too many primitives(69678), maximum is 65535." on VE-C but I'm pretty sure that's not new
17:51 sfan5 that's not supposed to happen either, but may not be new
17:51 cheapie IIRC I've heard players on Android complaining about it before
17:52 sfan5 #12731
17:52 ShadowBot https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues/12731 -- Could not draw triangles

19:12 Krock Does anyone have an idea why gcc 9 in particular is unhappy here? https://github.com/SmallJoker/minetest/actions/runs/19000462458/job/54266421397#step:4:525
19:14 sfan5 it might be that you can define an std::unordered_map<T, T2> with an incomplete type T2 on other compilers
19:15 Krock https://stackoverflow.com/a/13089641 .. ah that sucks
19:54 sfan5 Krock: 'adb shell input keyevent 136' will activate the profiler on android
19:55 sfan5 should work equally if you have an usb keyboard
19:56 sfan5 https://0x0.st/KL1H.jpg
20:05 Krock nice. just as I thought. I didn't try that in the end, but it's good to know that it works.
20:06 Krock I see you're testing your ogles array texture PR :3
20:06 Krock or rather the follow-up..
