05:59 MTDiscord <demazdafan> maybe a strange question but if local animation does the animation clientside and set_animation does it server side would it be viable to do a hybrid approach? when no player nearby in a ceratin range play locally and when it is play server side?
09:05 MTDiscord <luatic> What would that accomplish? The point of local animations is to have immediate, pre-defined responses to certain actions on the client.
09:05 MTDiscord <luatic> It's about reducing the effects of lag, not about not sending animations to clients.

15:42 MTDiscord <warr1024> Local animations are pretty much pointless.  They only cover a few transitions, and don't cover at all any of the things whose animations you will actually care about.  If you're staring at your own ass the whole time (even if 3rd person view actually were viable for gameplay) then the game isn't engaging enough, and if the lag is bad enough that you notice the animations, you'll be noticing a lot more first.
15:43 MTDiscord <warr1024> Overall the feature feels pretty vestigial...
16:33 MTDiscord <demazdafan> Sorry this what not meant to ask here. but thanks for your answer I was just wondering about it.
16:34 MTDiscord <demazdafan> also thanks for your answer 🙂
