00:13 MTDiscord <kimapr> re: Devuan; wasn't that one of the distros that embraced x11libre? i used to have a neutral/positive opinion of devuan but x11libre is instant -1000000 social credit
00:13 luatic what does embraced mean in this context
00:15 MTDiscord <kimapr> maintainers seriously considering it a viable alternative
00:16 luatic i think it's a clown project but if it doesn't cost the maintainers a lot, why shouldn't they allow their users to use a clown project?

01:17 erle for future reference (historical record in irc logs), the difference in fps between shaders off and shaders on in the MNT reform2 with mineclonia is 40fps vs ~15 fps, so playable vs not playable.

01:21 bgstack15 kimapr: I know that some of the devs were experimenting with x11libre and maybe even packaging it. I'm not entirely sure; I haven't poked into that topic too much.
01:23 Kimapr apparently there was also a proposal to replace xorg with xlibre in fedora but it got withdrawn after overwhelmingly negative feedback
01:23 Kimapr can't really find much info on xlibre in devuan
01:24 bgstack15 lol, I think Fedora is like the center of all the anti-X sentiment
01:24 bgstack15 Regardless of it being somebody that RH hates or anybody less conspicuous running it
01:27 repetitivestrain pgimeno_: which message are you speaking of
01:29 SwissalpS joined #luanti
01:35 bgstack15 Btw, the contentdbproxy implementation did not need to handle algorithms for calculating top packages or whatnot. It just passes the url paths with query parameters to each server, concatenates the results, and sends them back.
01:36 bgstack15 That might clobber "top packages" but let's face it, no alternate ContentDB instance is going to come close to "top packages" of the official instance.

09:38 pgimeno_ <repetitivestrain> another bug, coordinates provided to AreaStore queries are truncated into shorts with wraparound arithmetic

09:46 MTDiscord <the4spaceconstants2181> wraparound arithmetic can't be intentional, that's just how computer numbers work you make it sound like it is

10:53 luatic i don't see how you're reading that into the message, which pretty clearly considers the number conversion buggy (which it is)
11:05 repetitivestrain luatic: would you mind reporting or at least documenting this limitation?
11:07 repetitivestrain it has already proved responsible for actual world corruption (which was recovered from with backups, but nevertheless)
11:21 luatic really i would prefer to remove the limitation but there's probably compat concerns with that so i'm just gonna end up opening an issue

11:29 [MatrxMT] <birdlover32767> leaves should become opaque after a certain distance
11:29 [MatrxMT] <birdlover32767> it's just lowering performance just for a few blue pixels in the trees
11:30 [MatrxMT] <leca> Sorry for interruption, but is archlinux.org down?
11:30 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> isn't that basically what mip mapping achieves?
11:30 [MatrxMT] <leca> Sorry for interruption, but is archlinux.org down, or is it just me?
11:30 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> @leca not for me
11:30 [MatrxMT] <leca> ah thanks
11:33 [MatrxMT] <birdlover32767> maybe `drawtype = "plantlike"` nodes should also be disabled after a certain distance
