will https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues/16896 require a patch release or will it wait for 5.16? |
| 00:21 |
[MatrxMT] |
<Blockhead256> my bets are on a patch release |
| 00:22 |
user333_ |

| 00:22 |

| 02:01 |
user333_ |

| 02:01 |
user333_ |
will we get working sscsm before 5.16? |
| 02:02 |
[MatrxMT] |
<Blockhead256> wrong question to be asking imo |
| 02:03 |
user333_ |
it's not going to be all in one PR, thats for sure |
| 02:04 |
[MatrxMT] |
<Blockhead256> something was merged into master, so that part will be there. For whatever else, there's the milestone https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/milestone/32 |
| 02:05 |
user333_ |
really not that much to do |
| 02:05 |
[MatrxMT] |
<Blockhead256> I'm not up with when they add to the milestones. More info at #luanti-dev anyway |
| 02:08 |
[MatrxMT] |
<Blockhead256> but there has definitely been a shift to try to get releases out more often |
| 02:09 |
user333_ |
well with those rendering issues 5.15.1 will be out soon |
| 02:10 |
[MatrxMT] |
<Blockhead256> a.s.a.p, but the cause has yet to be established, so.. |
| 02:10 |
user333_ |
yea who knows... |

sets the BECC server room on fire again |
| 11:35 |
cheapie |
I swear, the rate at which things get set on fire in this game is directly proportional to the complexity of the fire alarm and/or suppression systems |
| 11:35 |
[MatrxMT] |
<Blockhead256> meanwhile it's a total fire ban in many parts of australia |
| 11:36 |
[MatrxMT] |
<Blockhead256> however, the total fire ban applies only in open spaces, inside of a data centre is fine |

Of course what you can't see in that screenshot is that there's a fire station right behind me... but the sign currently says "Bonnthal Food Department", they must be out to lunch |

<sheriff_u3> So I'm currently trying to make a node that will copy the textures of the node behind it when it's placed. What I've tried doing is getting the nodes name, then checking is node definition table with core.registered_nodes and then modifying the nodes tiles field with the other node's textures. Is this even possible, cause I've not yet gotten it to work. |

@sheriff_u3 The Lua side can be modified, but the server only ever reads those definitions on startup and the clients will only work with what the server tells them on join |
| 18:03 |
Krock |
so effectively you can modify the value as in "it's not write protected" - but it won't show any change on clients. |
| 18:03 |
Krock |
you could however use entities to overlay the node behind. or make your node fully transparent such that you can see the one behind :3 |
