11:42 roberestarkk G'Day Guys, Quick (hopefully) question. Does anyone know what user the docker images for the Minetest server run under? I'm getting "ERROR[Main]: Cannot create user data directory" when trying to attach the volume even though the docker user has read/write permissions to /home/minetest/data/
11:44 proller joined #minetest
11:51 BuckarooBanzai roberestarkk: user "minetest" (https://github.com/minetest/minetest/blob/master/Dockerfile#L36) i'm guessing that should map to uid=1000
11:52 roberestarkk Aha thank you
11:53 roberestarkk Okay, not a permissions issue
11:55 nepugia joined #minetest
11:56 BuckarooBanzai roberestarkk: did you map them properly?
12:01 roberestarkk I copy pasted from the readme.md
12:01 roberestarkk and created the appropriate directories
12:03 roberestarkk -v /home/minetest/data/:/var/lib/minetest/ -v /home/minetest/conf/:/etc/minetest/
12:04 roberestarkk Then mkdir /home/minetest/data and mkdir /home/minetest/conf
12:04 roberestarkk Created a /home/minetest/conf/minetest.conf
12:04 roberestarkk Uncommented some lines from the example from github

17:28 scr267 sfan5: So I tried the mysql backend yesterday and this morning, but the odd thing is that the map was missing all the built blocks... it looked like a newly generated map... maybe it was missing all the blocks?  I wonder if the migration actually worked so I'm retrying it right now.
17:29 sfan5 did you have anything in the map previously and confirmed that it did migrate that?
17:30 scr267 I hadn't checked the block table to see if any data was in it first, no.  I should have.
17:31 scr267 I just truncated the table and restarted the migration process, so ill take a look to see if it does contain data now.
17:32 scr267 hum, I'm at 13% migrated and the table only contains 1 row.
17:32 scr267 Seems the data isn't making it over.
17:32 scr267 $ /usr/local/bin/minetestserver --world "/home/someguy/.minetest/worlds/Aurelium5/" --migrate mysql
17:33 scr267 It's definitely connecting though.
17:34 scr267 Anyway just to be clear, the original map has data in it yes
17:34 scr267 but I'm migrating from postgresql
17:34 scr267 I assume it shouldn't matter which backend its coming from?
17:38 sfan5 unless migrating from postgres is broken, no
17:39 sfan5 when i wrote the backend I tested it with a brand new map, but it did save changes correctly
17:46 scr267 I'll try migrating from postgres to sqlite then.... see what happens.

18:25 MrChiantos Are you planning to take action against Oldcoder supporters such as Edgy, Nri and others who help Oldcoder collect data on our discord, IRC and other? For example by banning them or expelling them from your discords or irc?
18:26 MrChiantos In any case, I would contact the various managers of irc and discord servers to help to clear, because I'm getting fed up.
18:27 MrChiantos Yes Edgy, I'm talking about you.
18:28 MrChiantos And the fact that you use the fork of oldcoder in your fork, do not worry, we all know it.
18:29 sfan5 I don't believe it's useful to try to shame people publicly and raise a fuss over all of this.
18:29 rubenwardy We don't ban people for talking or associating with OC, only for doing concrete things like spamming
18:29 MrChiantos It might be important for devs core to take responsibility and help us get them out of this community.
18:30 MrChiantos I am seriously getting fed up with myself and others ... from their attacks.
18:36 nri umm who said i even supported OC MrChiantos, just because i may have talked to him before this is a case of bias from you if you ask me
18:38 nri rubenwardy please dont listen to him i hardly even know who OldCoder is
18:39 MrChiantos I have evidence that I would go out judiriquement if it goes too far.
18:40 MrChiantos I just invite you and others to calm down before it's too late.
18:41 MrChiantos That's all I have to say.
18:42 nri MrChiantos evidence of what?
18:42 MrChiantos You know that your relay and that of edgy with oldcoder, works both ways?
18:44 nri i am not a relay for OldCoder #1 and #2 i have a relay from EdgyIrc for "My Server" but that has nothing to do with OC

18:46 MrChiantos if you use relay for edgy, oc use edgy relai
18:46 MrChiantos Now you are warned.
18:47 nri MrChiantos: Why should i care i have never even had OldCoder talk on my channel
18:47 MrChiantos because oldcoder use edgy for data mining
18:47 nri and Edgy is nice to me
18:47 MrChiantos and fork edgy use fork oldcoder..
18:48 MrChiantos So you make fun of the fact that he uses edgy to collect data on people? And so indirectly you?
18:48 MrChiantos A nice people who help old ..
18:48 nri he is not collecting data from me
18:49 MrChiantos he can
18:49 Edgy1 excuse me
18:49 Edgy1 I do not collect data from this channel
18:49 MrChiantos with spyware and relay
18:49 Edgy1 i have used oc's software but dont support him in any way
18:50 MrChiantos you use oc software with spyware ?
18:50 Edgy1 and i have no relay to this channel
18:50 Edgy1 no i do not use any spyware
18:50 MrChiantos him use
18:50 Edgy1 i dont know where you are getting this information but it is false
18:50 Krock http://irc.minetest.net/minetest/2019-08-15#i_5577887
18:50 Edgy1 and if his minetest client has spyware, that is not my responsibility
18:50 MrChiantos lol ..
18:51 Krock also stop this conversation please
18:51 nri yes please MrChiantos
18:51 Krock everybody is responsible for themselves
18:51 MrChiantos Basically if he's using you against others, is not that your problem?
18:51 Edgy1 agreed. i break NO rules of this channel and do NOT forward ANYTHING about this channel to him. i do NOT work with him against the developers
18:51 catspar joined #minetest
18:52 Edgy1 my use of his software is MY fucking responsibility
18:52 MrChiantos Well, but if you keep getting rid of other discords and irc, do not be surprised.
18:52 Krock MrChiantos: I don't see a reason to
18:53 Krock it's all within this channel's rules so please don't judge eachother for their ideologies or decisions
18:54 Krock with that being said I'd prefer to answer some basic beginner questions here instead of listening to this always tiring OC talk
18:54 nri yes
18:54 nri Thanks Krock
18:54 Edgy1 thank you krock
18:54 Krock thanks.
18:54 MrChiantos It is not a question of ideology, it uses them to collect our data and to attack us.
18:54 Edgy1 joined #minetest
18:55 Edgy1 MrChiantos, for the last god damn time, I AM NOT COLLECTING YOUR DATA. and if he is that isnt my fault!
18:55 Edgy1 also, interestingly enough, you guys literally post logs of your conversations on the web where everyone (inlcuding oldcoder on vpn) can see
18:56 nri lol
18:56 Krock accusations without proves. nice
18:56 nri true
18:56 Edgy1 ^
18:58 Edgy1 anyways i gotta go now

20:03 scr267 sfan5, It's possible that the migration from postgres doesn't work.  I tried to migrate to sqlite and ended up with a really old version of my map... Seems I neglected to delete my old sqlite files when I migrated to postgres a while back.
20:05 sfan5 oh i can see the bug already
