01:24 Sheriff_U3 Does Mesecons have any documentation for their api's?
01:28 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> [Hmm, there doeshttps://mesecons.net/developers.html](https://mesecons.net/developers.html)
01:28 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> let me try that again
01:28 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> https://mesecons.net/developers.html
01:28 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> seems to be on the website and not the source tree - about the closest in the source code is mesecons/mesecons/init.lua with a comment at the top
01:36 Sheriff_U3 hmm ok
02:10 bgstack15 repetitivestrain: I found that crash again, with mcl_localplayer:/level.lua:370 attempt to perform arithmetic on a nil value
02:10 bgstack15 It happens when the weather is raining
02:10 bgstack15 You want a bug report on your repo?
02:11 bgstack15 it is very repeatable for us
02:56 Sheriff_U3 smallest pull request that I've ever made: https://github.com/Jeija/mesecons.net/pull/23

09:35 random_user_on_l Oh no
09:35 random_user_on_l Who here
09:36 random_user_on_l Does this run on the wifi
09:36 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> a lot of people will be connected to your IRC channel, but it's better if you ask a question if you want a response
09:38 random_user_on_l I don't have a irc channel
09:39 random_user_on_l Btw
09:39 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> you're on #luanti though :)
09:39 random_user_on_l Ok but does my revolution irc run on WiFi or not
09:40 random_user_on_l Wait who are the users online btw
09:40 random_user_on_l HELP
09:40 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> it's not a phone call, so it will run on WiFi or data, either
09:41 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> what seems to be the problem?
09:41 random_user_on_l How about no WiFi or data? I want to irc while offline :)
09:41 random_user_on_l And are you from a luanti world/server?
09:42 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> I'm on another protocol called Matrix, there's a helper account that posts my messages across
09:42 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> You will miss messages that come in while you turn WiFi & data off, and have to read the log at https://irc.luanti.org/luanti/today
09:42 random_user_on_l Across what?
09:43 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> across the internet from the Matrix server to the IRC server
09:43 random_user_on_l But you will still be able to chat?
09:43 random_user_on_l When WiFi and data off?
09:44 GNUHacker joined #luanti
09:44 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> Imagine hanging up a phone call, do you think the person on the other end will still hear anything you say? No, you would need to call them again
09:44 random_user_on_l Wait is gnuhacker a real hacker or a fancy name
09:44 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> that's the kind of thing that will happen if you turn your internet off
09:45 random_user_on_l Ohh I get it i have no load in my sim
09:45 MTDiscord <bla8722> Blockhead256: if you yell loud enough into the phone 😉

09:47 random_user_on_l How to list all people on the server
09:48 random_user_on_l Online on the server
09:49 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> revolution IRC should have a list of all the people in the room. The server has many rooms and you can't really see everyone across all rooms
09:49 random_user_on_l I mean on this room
09:50 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> I don't know revolution IRC specifically sorry, try exploring the buttons and swiping stuff
09:51 random_user_on_l Oh now I see. Just click thr three dots and click members. Bye for now bcuz imma go to somewhere with no wifi

10:58 FeXoR I noticed that when the luanti windows looses focus the client significantly falls behind in time and focusing the window after 5 minutes results in minutes of delay.
10:59 sfan5 delay of what exactly?
11:00 FeXoR I'm using Linux. I tried "renice -10 [luanti process ID]" but that doesn't seem to change anything. This behavior didn't occur about 2 years ago
11:02 FeXoR sfan5: Clicking a button in a formspec (taking items, crafting items, ...), placing/digging nodes. I guess everything that requires server confirmation. After regaining focus the game in jeneral speeds up - like trying to catch up to the server's state.
11:02 FeXoR *gerneral
11:03 sfan5 could you open a bug report here? https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues/new/choose
11:04 FeXoR Sure. I'm not sure it's a meaningful bug report though because it may be something that changed in Linux/x11 rather than a Luanti bug.
11:05 sfan5 external circumstances should not be able to cause this
11:09 FeXoR Ok, thank you, that reduced the causes dramatically ;)
11:12 FeXoR Then again I would thing such a severe bug would have been reported. It's pretty usual on some servers to switch wo another window e.g. until the trees has grown back :p
11:12 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> you really can't assume that these things are reported. But also, check the issues before posting

12:47 FeXoR How to install the last stable release on Ubuntu? I can see Windows and Android packages - but those don't seem to be what I should use: https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/releases/tag/5.15.1
12:47 FeXoR (Build failed due to commit 7fb5fcd, build ran through with it's parent 537f511 - but starting luanti failed)
12:48 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> linux users are expected to get Luanti through their package manager, but Ubuntu as a stable distro won't have an up to date release.
12:48 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> use the PPA https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/minetestdevs/stable (look up how to add PPAs to Debian/Ubuntu/etc)
12:49 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> building from source isn't hard either https://forum.luanti.org/viewtopic.php?t=3837
12:52 FeXoR … if the build doesn't fail due to:
12:52 FeXoR luanti/src/script/common/c_content.cpp:2268:40: error: conversion from ‘IntType’ {aka ‘long int’} to ‘Json::Value’ is ambiguous
12:52 FeXoR 2268 |     root = static_cast<IntType>(dbl_val);
12:53 [MatrxMT] <Blockhead256> `git checkout stable-5`
12:53 FeXoR Thank you ;)

21:36 bgstack15 I feel like ContentDB is perfect for browsing, such as for regular users. But since I know git, and almost all packages have a source repo link, using git to manage packages is way easier for me.

22:06 MTDiscord <wsor4035> Cdb is a great lookup registry and for normies
22:10 user333_ it's also a centralized place for games/mods/texture packs so i don't need to manually find every single mod's repo for my tool
22:14 MTDiscord <wsor4035> ...so a lookup registry? :p
